Our workshops cover a plethora of topics including legal matters, financial and future planning. All our workshops offer practical support, peer mentoring and sign-posting to specialist services.
What are “Raising Awareness” (RAW) and “Freedom from Fear” workshops?
RAWs are practical sessions presented by qualified counsellors in their field of expertise. Rachael Alexander, a Director of Separation Help UK and a Behavioural Psychologist delivers our workshops throughout the UK.
The “Freedom from Fear” workshop is about recognising your feelings whether anger, shame, guilt, sadness or sorrow. All these emotions and other feelings can be heightened during the period before or after separation. The science of self-development/ awareness programs helps you to recognise your emotions. These workshops provide guidance and understanding regarding the idea that too much negative thought can drag you down into a negative spiral of thinking. This does not mean simply “positive thinking”.
However, there is often a positive side to what you are going through or have been through. Adrianna Huffington from the Huffington Post has been quoted as saying, “Live your life as if everything is rigged in your favour”.
Emotional intelligence covered in these workshops simply means understanding your own unique situation, time for reflection and recognising that a period of emotional imbalance is understandable. Positive feelings come with optimism and our workshops cover emotional control. Our workshops also cover the following:
• Practical guidance on financial and legal matters
• Rebuilding confidence, and boosting self-esteem.
• Planning for the future including “goal setting”.
• Assertiveness, awareness and understanding your relationship.
• Personal stories
It is important to recognise with the correct support and guidance, the very well-known quote from Friedrich Nietzsche:
“What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger”
“The presentations were very useful and moving, every speaker was fantastic and engaged everyone in the room.”
“I thought the sequence and balance of the speakers was excellent, theory, practical and
“Great resource to refer clients to you …. you are not alone. Personal stories from the speakers were very motivational.”
“This project is very exciting and there is a desperate need to have this available in society.”
